This is an excellent Java-based program that I show my Math & Science students when we extra time. It makes them think about the engineering principles behind springs, muscles, and weights. It's fun to mess around with the creations people have already built and to try to build your own. If you go there, please read the tutorials first; they will help you understand what all of the small symbols and lines mean.
